When Words Are Not Enough: Art Therapy as a Path to Safe Contact in IFS

This workshop is for professionals, who are looking for new ways to work with clients experiencing intense states such as anxiety, exhaustion, or shutdown — especially when clients are not able or not ready to put their experience into words.

We will explore an approach that integrates the logic of Internal Family Systems with therapy through creative processes.

The focus will not only be on “expression” or “processing,” but on creating conditions for a safe contact with inner experience — without the need to immediately name, explain, or use the “language of parts.”

In IFS this can be understood as an Implicit Direct Access to inner processes, which is especially useful in early sessions or during states of high activation.

Format: An experiential online workshop.
Participation in exercises is optional — you are welcome to remain in an observer role.

Facilitator: Vira Mylogradova-Donchenko, Co-founder of the Ukrainian Institute of IFS, Member of the Ukrainian Art Therapy Association
Practicing psychologist with experience in educational settings since 1994

Materials: Any simple materials available at your desk or nearby:
paper, pencil, marker, wrapping paper, tissues, a glass of water, decorative items, or elements of clothing.
