At first glance, Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) may seem like complete opposites.
DBT is a highly structured approach that offers practical skills for emotional regulation, building distress tolerance, and staying present in the “here and now.”
IFS, on the other hand, rather than trying to get rid of anxiety, procrastination, or self-criticism, invites a curious and compassionate exploration of inner experience and a deeper understanding of the origins of emotions.
So how can these two models complement each other in practice?
We invite you to explore this together with Daria Matkowska.
